Jordan

Norway

on Saturday. That will be a huge boost for the squad as he is such a popular figure in the squad.

Henderson suffered the freak injury after hurdling advertising boards and falling awkwardly after celebrating with fans at the end of their 3-2 victory over Mexico at the Estadio Azteca. He required oxygen as he was stretchered off by medical staff before later heading to hospital in the capital.

His England colleagues were quick to respond. Vice-captain

Declan Rice

wrote in the comments: "Some man," while Morgan Rogers responded: "What a guy." Elliot Anderson and Djed Spence also displayed their affection with 'heart' emojis to the stricken midfielder.

Henderson has professed his desire to stay with the rest of the squad to offer his support and has been in regular touch with his team-mates. He has been ruled out for the rest of the tournament, even if England reach the final, after suffering a broken radius in his forearm.

As a result of his injury, the

BBC

report that head coach Thomas Tuchel is set to ban his players from jumping over the hoardings. The German boss will be keen to avoid any further strange injuries, especially ones off the pitch, as England look to make their first final in 60 years.

They face Erling Haaland's Norway on Saturday before a potential semi-final against

Argentina

or

Switzerland

. Should Tuchel's men progess beyond the last four,

France

Spain

are likely to await them in the final at the New York New Jersey stadium on July 19.
