The Charlotte Hornets reportedly have agreed to a three-year, $74 million deal with guard Coby White, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Free agent guard Coby White intends to sign a three-year, $74 million deal to return to the Charlotte Hornets, sources tell ESPN. White was a major priority for the Hornets and now steps into a new starting role in the backcourt.

White, the No. 7 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, averaged 15.6 points and 3 assists over 21 games with Charlotte last season after being acquired in a trade with Chicago, where he played the first six-plus seasons of his NBA career. The 6-foot-4 guard has career averages of 15.4 points and 3.9 assists.

The Hornets reportedly made this agreement after Wednesday’s

to send former All-Star guard LaMelo Ball to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
