Arsenal hold talks to sign second Newcastle star after Sandro Tonali approach

Arsenal have held talks with Bruno Guimaraes’ representatives as the Gunners weigh up a move for the Newcastle United star.
Mikel Arteta is keen to strengthen his squad after Arsenal ended their 22-year wait for a Premier League title with a right-back, a central midfielder, a winger and a forward positions the hopes to strengthen.
Guimaraes, currently part of the Brazil squad at the World Cup , has emerged as a new target with the Daily Mail reporting his representatives are ‘gauging the market’ for the 28-year-old.
With talks taking place between Arsenal officials and the player’s camp, Newcastle are bracing themselves for an approach from the league champions.

Arsenal are also among the clubs interested in signing another Newcastle star in Sandro Tonali , who was offered to them during the January transfer window.
Competition for the Italy international is intense however with Manchester City and Manchester United are also admirers. Tottenham have also emerged as an interested party over the last week, seeing an £75million offer for the Brazilian rejected.
Reports in March claimed United explored a move for Guimaraes as a possible long-term successor for Casemiro . ESPN Brasil claimed an offer of €80million (£69m) would be needed to tempt Newcastle into doing business.

Newcastle have already lost one key player this summer with Anthony Gordon leaving Tyneside to join Barcelona.
Arsenal have been credited with a number of midfield options including Lille star Ayyoub Bouaddi, currently starring for Morocco at the World Cup.

France’s Manu Kone is another target while Bournemouth’s Alex Scott is also the subject of interest from north London.
