The quarter-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup have arrived and the competition is now down to the last eight teams with Europe dominating the scene right now.

Only one South America side remains and it is unsurprisingly the holders Argentina who will end the quarter-final phase of the competition against Switzerland who have quietly cruised through this competition. The Swiss have seen off Algeria and Colombia in the knockout stages so far while Argentina were almost knocked out in dramatic fashion against Egypt last round if it were not for three goals quick goals late on in the second-half to secure a 3-2 win.

Elsewhere, 2022 finalist France face AFCON champions Morocco who are the last nation representing Africa. A place in the final would a huge and momentous occasion for African football but Brahim Diaz and co have to do a lot to get the better of Les Bleus as the likes of Kylian Mbappe showed against Paraguay in the round of 16.

England will be focused and prepared against Norway in what will be a huge battle. Many will be looking to see who will deliver - Erling Haaland or Harry Kane - but both managers have organised their teams so well it may well be a case of the wits on the touchline that will cross one team over the finish line first.

Finally, European champions Spain face Belgium to complete the quarter-final lineup. La Roja are yet to concede a goal in the knockout stages while Belgium are the top scorers with seven goals.

Since the very beginning, France have been the favourites of the tournament and their consistency in matches demonstrates exactly why they are tipped to win the World Cup this summer. Les Bleus are currently 11/5 with AK Bets while they are 15/8 with Sky Bet , Paddy Power and Betfred as they look to make it three World Cup final appearances in a row.

The bookies have tipped Spain as the next favourite and were previously billed as joint-favourites with Didier Deschamps side but have since drifted ever since their draw with overachievers Cape Verde. They are now 4/1 with William Hill while Betfred and Sky Bet have them at 7/2 for La Roja to lift the trophy for only the second time in their history.

Elsewhere, England follow Argentina with the two sides potentially renewing their rivalry in the semi-finals if things go to plan in their respective quarter-finals. Messi and co are 4/1 across the board while England are best priced at 5/1 but the likes of William Hill have them slightly behind Lionel Scaloni's side at 9/2.
