The World Cup has been one almighty distraction to the usual transfer-focused summer, and those of us glued to the action might have missed some fairly notable deals.

Here are the some high-profile deals that might have been missed.

The biggest name in the free agent pool has put pen to paper on a Stateside switch. While the USA is gripped by World Cup fever, American 'soccer' fans have the arrival of Lewandowski to look forward to.

The 37-year-old left

after 120 goals in 192 games and still knows where the net is. Chicago has

one of the largest Polish communities outside of Poland

and now welcomes the country's biggest footballing icon.

AC Milan

have broken their transfer record to sign Goncalo Ramo from

Paris Saint-Germain

. The striker struggled for regular minutes in Paris, but the European champions still managed to rake in a €74m (£63.4m) for Ramos.

It's a massive investment for

Milan

and new head coach Ruben Amorim, who will hope his compatriot can be the talisman a falling giant needs.

La Liga

last season, with the Kosovan centre-forward narrowly missing out on the Pichichi Trophy in a relegated side.

The 32-year-old's 23-goal league campaign was the best of his career to date and has earned him a return to former club Fenerbahce. The Turkish side have spent €15m to re-sign Muriqi, who scored 15 league goals during a single-season spell with Fener in 2019/20.

Another player returning to a former club is Aleksandar Stankovic, who has rejoined

Inter Milan

from Club Brugge.

The 20-year-old never made a senior appearance for

Inter

before leaving for Belgium last summer, but returns 12 months later after the Italian champions triggered their €23 million buy-back clause.

City

Football Group inter-club switch, Mathys Detourbet has signed for

Manchester City

from Troyes.

A €25m has taken the 19-year-old from Ligue 2 to the Etihad, though he'll spend the upcoming campaign on loan at AS Monaco.

As Detourbet arrives at

, Nathan Ake heads for the exit door. The Dutch defender has completed an £8.5m move to Fenerbahce, after six seasons and 12 trophies with the Cityzens.

Atletico Madrid

have brought Alejandro Grimaldo back to Spanish football after signing the left-back from Leverkusen in a £20m deal.

Grimaldo departs Leverkusen as a club great, following his key role in the club's 2023/24 unbeaten Bundesliga title success. The 30-year-old recorded 75 goals and assists in 175 games for Leverkusen from wing-back. Truly remarkable numbers.
