The
World Cup
has opened our eyes to some of the exciting talents available.
Players such as
Johan Manzambi
, who is unfortunately on his way to signing for Newcastle United,
Manu Kone
, and
Mikel Oyarzabal
have caught the eye and attracted interest from Old Trafford.
However, it is not just those names.
Paraguay goalkeeper Orlando Gill
is another
standout whom United have eyed. Although, a move for Gill now looks unlikely following
Karl Darlow’s signing
.
One player who could be fortunate enough to move to M16 after an impressive
showing is Ecuadorian midfielder
Pedro Vite
Vite thrives in a crowded central area; he is confident receiving the ball under pressure before quickly progressing it through the lines. His first touch is consistently clean, his awareness is excellent, and he has an eye for line-breaking passes.
Consequently, as he is able to play any midfield role, he is a coach’s dream.
He stood out for Ecuador at the
, delivering impressive performances against Germany and
Ivory Coast
As per
Ole
, Aston Villa are interested in the UNAM Pumas midfielder, but they are not alone, with Manchester City and United also keen.
Discussing the interest from Old Trafford, they write, “Manchester United has already shown informal interest.”
Aware of the interest in their midfielder, Pumas already have an idea of how much they are willing to let him go for.
Therefore, Ole reveals, “Pumas has already set a $10 million price tag for the player.”
For £7.4 million, Vite could arrive at Old Trafford, but is he the midfielder United need?
After agreeing deals for
Andrey Santos
and
Ederson
, United need to target a top-class midfielder.
Vite is surely not that, and if he were to be signed, he is unlikely to start games for United initially. That in itself raises questions about whether it is a deal worth committing to.
Ultimately, between a move for Vite and a move for someone like
Alex Scott
, a move for the AFC Bournemouth man now looks more realistic.
