Official: Inter buy Provedel from Lazio in €3m agreement

Ivan Provedel has

officially joined Inter

as their new goalkeeper after

completing the €3m transfer from Lazio

, but it’s not clear when he’ll be ready to play.

The shot-stopper underwent his medical tests today and was given the all-clear to sign the contract that runs to June 2029.

He jumped at the opportunity to make this move, as he was a self-confessed

Inter

supporter since childhood.

The 32-year-old

is expected to compete with Josep Martinez for the gloves at San Siro this season, following the departure of Yann Sommer.

Coming up through the Udinese and Chievo youth academies, Provedel played for the likes of Perugia, Pisa, Modena, Juve Stabia, Pro Vercelli and Empoli before making his mark at Spezia.

This was where he earned the €2.55m move to

Lazio

in the summer of 2022.

His season was ended prematurely when suffering a serious shoulder injury in March, forcing him to undergo delicate surgery.

It was reported at the time that Provedel would not be back on the field until the end of August, so

might have to wait a while before seeing him make his debut.

Although regularly called up for the senior Italy squad, he is yet to make his first appearance.
